Windsurfing Istria-Pula: Courses

Anybody from 7 to 65 years of age can join our courses. The lessons start every day from 10-12 o’clock and continue in the afternoon from 16-18 o’clock. If you think that four hours a day could be too exhausting for you, you can choose to attend only two hours daily, in the morning or in the afternoon session. When the course takers are children under 12 years of age, we take account of their endurance.
We have the newest equipment for windsurfing at our disposal: sails made of ultra light materials, from 2.0-5.5 square meters large and boards of the latest production that enables you to learn windsurfing very quickly and without difficulties.
You can also choose the language in which you want to take your course: English, German, Italian or Croatian.
The number of students taking part in one course is never more than six, which allows the instructor to dedicate enough time to each attendant.

TEST COURSE:
The aim of the test course is to offer beginners an opportunity to try windsurfing in order to be able to decide whether they have the necessary skills to take the full basic course and if that is what they really want. The test course lasts 2 hours: one hour of theoretical lessons on the simulator and one with the instructor on water. If you decide to continue and join the basic course, its price will be lowered by the amount of the test course.

BASIC COURSE:
The basic course lasts 8 hours. After the first hour on the simulator, which includes also the theoretical part of the course, you will spend the next 7 hours on water. The theory includes lessons in wind direction and speed as well as how to recognize unfavourable conditions like dangerous sea currents or too strong wind. During the basic course you will learn to sail in various course directions with optimum body and rig-position, tack and simple jibe. After finishing this course, you will be able to windsurf independently in light or middle wind conditions. The aim of the course is to learn to sail safely and to enjoy it.
Everybody aged between 7 and 65 can join this course. The price includes the necessary windsurfing equipment, a Rip Curl wetsuit or a Scorpion Bay licra t-shirts.

KIDS COURSE:
Modern methods enable children aged 7-12 to learn windsurfing while playing and having fun. The programme of this course consists of 8 hours of lessons in both theory and practice: windsurfing in different directions, tack, simple jibe, and an introduction to the safety rules. We provide special light rigs and small boards designed for kids. At the end of the course the young windsurfers are able to sail independently and safely in light wind conditions.

ADVANCED COURSE:
This is the right course for everybody who has passed the basic course and would like to improve his manoeuvres. The course programme contains: fast tack, jibe, beach-start, harness sailing and upwind sailing in middle/strong wind conditions. The aim of the course is to sail safely in middle wind conditions with progression to the fun-board.

FUN COURSE:
After the advanced course you can take the FUN course that offers an introduction to the real pleasures of fun-boarding. This programme includes learning how to control the board direction with your feet, planning techniques without the dagger-board, straps technique, power jibe, quick tack & water start in middle/strong wind conditions.

RENTAL:
We have a rental program intended for everybody who already can windsurf, but does not have his own equipment. This offer contains: 15 BIC & TIGA boards from 80 up to 205 litres with and without a dagger-board and more than 20 GUNSAILS & BIC SPORT rigs from 2 to 8 square meters large. We also have a special program for children that includes ultra-light rigs and small boards designed for them. Wetsuits of any size are provided by Rip Curl and the Lycra t-shirts by Scorpion Bay. Our large rental selection offers the right equipment for everybody.

STORAGE:
If you already are an experienced surfer and want to bring along your own equipment, our Centre can offer you a comfortable solution. You can store your sail rigged up together with your board instead of taking them apart and together every day. Your equipment would be available during the working hours of the school, only a few meters from the water, and during the closing hours the material would be securely locked up, under the surveillance of the night watchman. At the end of your holiday before you drive home we will make the things easier for you and wash your equipment with fresh water so that you do not have to worry about it.
