Bale-Valle boasts very ancient origins, from Roman times and beyond for it seems to have been the site of some prehistoric strongholds, called castellieri. On the west, the territory of Valle stretches down to the sea, covering a coastal belt which extends from the promontory of arbariga to Garzota. It is about 13 km from Rovinj– Rovigno and 20 km from Pula – Pola. It can be easily reached being situated in vicinity of the routes of communication which link Italy and Slovenia to Pula – Pola and Rovinj – Rovingo. The coastal strip of Balle is an unique Istrian sea pearl.
